“Start a podcast, Adrian. You’d be great at it.”
So I heard from many.
I thought, investigated, and finally came to my decision.
I’m not.
Creating a fabulous podcast and the time and commitment to nurture it to maturity is hard work.
That’s not to say it isn’t worth it, but it’s not my jam.
Many solopreneurs follow the shiny object and get seduced by ideas, jumping in with enthusiasm and excitement.
Then there’s the reality check.
I love to be on podcasts (hint hint) and make a good guest, but creating what in effect would be a 4th business in addition to my current three, well, not so much.
So, there’s the point of this post. Just because someone tells you something would be great for you and your business, it might not be as groovy for you as they are describing.
You have to do your own due diligence. Come to your own conclusions. Be confident about your decision.
Don’t follow the pack when you know in your gut that it’s not right for you.
Have you ever “gone along” with something only to discover it’s a mistake?
I have and it hurt.
Most of us have and we learned a lesson.
How do you resist the shiny object syndrome?
